CVSS v3.1 |
| The system fails to properly enforce scope authorization when the `authorize_all_scopes` configuration is enabled. This allows applications using the client credentials grant type to obtain all API scopes, including sensitive internal and console scopes, without requiring explicit authorization, bypassing intended access controls.
Exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to privilege escalation, enabling unprivileged clients to perform unauthorized administrative actions, access confidential organizational data, and potentially achieve full account takeover in deployments where the `authorize_all_scopes` configuration deviates from its default disabled state. |
| When a proxy server is configured with `customUrl.enabled`, the component accepts user-supplied input within forwarded HTTP headers without enforcing expected validation constraints. A malicious actor can manipulate these headers to influence the URL construction process, leading to an open redirect vulnerability. Additionally, unsanitized header values are written to application logs.
An attacker can exploit this to force redirection to arbitrary malicious domains, potentially enabling phishing attacks. Furthermore, they can inject forged entries into application logs, impacting the reliability of security logs and potentially hindering incident investigation. |
| When utilizing JWT Bearer or SAML2 Bearer grant types, the system fails to validate the status of the Identity Provider (IDP) before issuing access tokens. This oversight permits tokens to be generated even when the associated IDP has been disabled.
A malicious actor could leverage this vulnerability to obtain access tokens by targeting a disabled IDP. This could enable them to bypass intended security controls and potentially access protected resources that should be inaccessible due to the IDP's disabled state. |
| The authentication endpoint does not properly encode user-supplied input before rendering it within the web page. This lack of output encoding allows an attacker to inject malicious JavaScript payloads into the authentication flow, which are then executed by the victim's browser.
By exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker can redirect the user's browser to a malicious website, modify the content of the web page displayed to the user, or exfiltrate information from the browser. However, due to the implementation of the httpOnly flag on session-related sensitive cookies, session hijacking and similar attacks are not possible. |
| An improper access control vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to insufficient permission enforcement in certain internal SOAP Admin Services and System REST APIs. A low-privileged user may exploit this flaw to perform unauthorized operations, including accessing server-level information.
This vulnerability affects only internal administrative interfaces. APIs exposed through the WSO2 API Manager's API Gateway remain unaffected. |
| An improper access control vulnerability exists in WSO2 Enterprise Integrator product due to insufficient permission restrictions on internal SOAP admin services related to system logs and user-store configuration. A low-privileged user can access log data and user-store configuration details that are not intended to be exposed at that privilege level.
While no credentials or sensitive user information are exposed, this vulnerability may allow unauthorized visibility into internal operational details, which could aid in further exploitation or reconnaissance. |
| Due to the improper configuration of XML parser, user-supplied XML is parsed without applying sufficient restrictions, enabling XML External Entity (XXE) resolution in multiple WSO2 Products.
A successful XXE attack could allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to:
* Read sensitive files from the server’s filesystem.
* Perform denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, which can render the affected service unavailable. |
| An issue was discovered in WSO2 Dashboard Server 2.0.0. It is possible to force the application to perform requests to the internal workstation (port-scanning) and to perform requests to adjacent workstations (network-scanning), aka SSRF. |
| An issue was discovered in WSO2 API Manager 2.6.0. Uploaded documents for API documentation are available to an unauthenticated user. |
| An issue was discovered in WSO2 Dashboard Server 2.0.0. It is possible to inject a JavaScript payload that will be stored in the database and then displayed and executed on the same page, aka XSS. |
| An issue was discovered in WSO2 API Manager 2.6.0. It is possible for a logged-in user to upload, as API documentation, any type of file by changing the extension to an allowed one. |
| An issue was discovered in WSO2 API Manager 2.6.0. It is possible to force the application to perform requests to the internal workstation (SSRF port-scanning), other adjacent workstations (SSRF network scanning), or to enumerate files because of the existence of the file:// wrapper. |
| WSO2 Data Analytics Server 3.1.0 has XSS in carbon/resources/add_collection_ajaxprocessor.jsp via the collectionName or parentPath parameter. |
| Directory traversal vulnerability in the LogViewer Admin Service in WSO2 Carbon 4.4.5 allows remote authenticated administrators to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the logFile parameter to downloadgz-ajaxprocessor.jsp. |
| Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in WSO2 SOA Enablement Server for Java/6.6 build SSJ-6.6-20090827-1616 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the PATH_INFO. |
| Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in the XACML flow feature in WSO2 Identity Server 5.1.0 allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of privileged users for requests that process XACML requests via an entitlement/eval-policy-submit.jsp request. |
| Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in WSO2 Carbon 4.4.5 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) setName parameter to identity-mgt/challenges-mgt.jsp; the (2) webappType or (3) httpPort parameter to webapp-list/webapp_info.jsp; the (4) dsName or (5) description parameter to ndatasource/newdatasource.jsp; the (6) phase parameter to viewflows/handlers.jsp; or the (7) url parameter to ndatasource/validateconnection-ajaxprocessor.jsp. |
| Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in WSO2 Carbon 4.4.5 allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of privileged users for requests that shutdown a server via a shutdown action to server-admin/proxy_ajaxprocessor.jsp. |
| XML external entity (XXE) vulnerability in the XACML flow feature in WSO2 Identity Server 5.1.0 before WSO2-CARBON-PATCH-4.4.0-0231 allows remote authenticated users with access to XACML features to read arbitrary files, cause a denial of service, conduct server-side request forgery (SSRF) attacks, or have unspecified other impact via a crafted XACML request to entitlement/eval-policy-submit.jsp. NOTE: this issue can be combined with CVE-2016-4311 to exploit the vulnerability without credentials. |
