| CVE-2026-39892 | 2 Cryptography.io, Pyca | 2 Cryptography, Cryptography | 2026-11-04 | 9.8 Critical |
| cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers. From 45.0.0 to before 46.0.7, if a non-contiguous buffer was passed to APIs which accepted Python buffers (e.g. Hash.update()), this could lead to buffer overflows. This vulnerability is fixed in 46.0.7. | ||||
| CVE-2026-26007 | 2 Cryptography.io, Pyca | 2 Cryptography, Cryptography | 2026-04-18 | 6.5 Medium |
| cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers. Prior to 46.0.5, the public_key_from_numbers (or EllipticCurvePublicNumbers.public_key()), EllipticCurvePublicNumbers.public_key(), load_der_public_key() and load_pem_public_key() functions do not verify that the point belongs to the expected prime-order subgroup of the curve. This missing validation allows an attacker to provide a public key point P from a small-order subgroup. This can lead to security issues in various situations, such as the most commonly used signature verification (ECDSA) and shared key negotiation (ECDH). When the victim computes the shared secret as S = [victim_private_key]P via ECDH, this leaks information about victim_private_key mod (small_subgroup_order). For curves with cofactor > 1, this reveals the least significant bits of the private key. When these weak public keys are used in ECDSA , it's easy to forge signatures on the small subgroup. Only SECT curves are impacted by this. This vulnerability is fixed in 46.0.5. | ||||
| CVE-2016-9243 | 3 Canonical, Cryptography.io, Fedoraproject | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Cryptography, Fedora | 2025-04-20 | 7.5 High |
| HKDF in cryptography before 1.5.2 returns an empty byte-string if used with a length less than algorithm.digest_size. | ||||
| CVE-2023-38325 | 1 Cryptography.io | 1 Cryptography | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
| The cryptography package before 41.0.2 for Python mishandles SSH certificates that have critical options. | ||||
| CVE-2020-36242 | 4 Cryptography.io, Fedoraproject, Oracle and 1 more | 6 Cryptography, Fedora, Communications Cloud Native Core Network Function Cloud Native Environment and 3 more | 2024-11-21 | 9.1 Critical |
| In the cryptography package before 3.3.2 for Python, certain sequences of update calls to symmetrically encrypt multi-GB values could result in an integer overflow and buffer overflow, as demonstrated by the Fernet class. | ||||
| CVE-2020-25659 | 3 Cryptography.io, Oracle, Redhat | 5 Cryptography, Communications Cloud Native Core Network Function Cloud Native Environment, Enterprise Linux and 2 more | 2024-11-21 | 5.9 Medium |
| python-cryptography 3.2 is vulnerable to Bleichenbacher timing attacks in the RSA decryption API, via timed processing of valid PKCS#1 v1.5 ciphertext. | ||||
