CVSS v3.1 |
| braces through 3.0.3 contains a stack overflow vulnerability in the recursive AST walkers that lack depth guards. Attackers can supply deeply nested brace patterns under the character limit to exhaust the call stack and terminate the Node.js process with an uncaught RangeError. |
| Kyverno before 1.19.2 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows namespace-scoped policy authors to exhaust CPU and memory by submitting CEL expressions evaluated without runtime cost limits. Attackers can create a NamespacedValidatingPolicy or NamespacedDeletingPolicy with nested map comprehensions over large ConfigMap fields to OOM-kill Kyverno pods and block cluster-wide admission. |
| A flaw was found in libsoup. The SoupWebsocketConnection may accept a large WebSocket message, which may cause libsoup to allocate memory and lead to a denial of service (DoS). |
| A flaw was discovered in libvirt in the XML file processing. More specifically, the parsing of user provided XML files was performed before the ACL checks. A malicious user with limited permissions could exploit this flaw by submitting a specially crafted XML file, causing libvirt to allocate too much memory on the host. The excessive memory consumption could lead to a libvirt process crash on the host, resulting in a denial-of-service condition. |
| Vulnerability in the Siebel CRM Integration product of Oracle Siebel CRM (component: EAI). Supported versions that are affected are 17.0-26.9. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Siebel CRM Integration. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of Siebel CRM Integration. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 7.5 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). |
| A flaw was found in Undertow. When an AJP request is sent that exceeds the max-header-size attribute in ajp-listener, JBoss EAP is marked in an error state by mod_cluster in httpd, causing JBoss EAP to close the TCP connection without returning an AJP response. This happens because mod_proxy_cluster marks the JBoss EAP instance as an error worker when the TCP connection is closed from the backend after sending the AJP request without receiving an AJP response, and stops forwarding. This issue could allow a malicious user could to repeatedly send requests that exceed the max-header-size, causing a Denial of Service (DoS). |
| Crass is a Ruby CSS parser that's fully compliant with the CSS Syntax Level 3 specification. Prior to 1.0.7, Crass recursively parses `CSS simple blocks and functions` without a depth guard. An attacker-controlled CSS value containing deeply nested blocks or functions can recurse until Ruby raises `SystemStackError`: stack level too deep, or cause excessive memory usage. Version 1.0.7 adds a configurable depth limit with a conservative default. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.7. |
| A flaw was found in Cockpit. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by initiating and sustaining numerous simultaneous connections to the `cockpit-tls` service. This forces the service to create an unbounded number of detached threads, consuming system resources such as memory and file descriptors. The primary consequence is a denial of service (DoS), leading to degradation or complete unavailability of the Cockpit service for legitimate users. |
| A flaw was found in 389-ds-base. The get_ldapmessage_controls_ext() function in the LDAP server does not enforce an upper bound on the number of controls per LDAP message. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can send a specially crafted LDAP request containing hundreds of thousands of minimal controls within the default maximum BER message size (2 MB), causing excessive CPU consumption and heap allocation on the server. Under concurrent exploitation, this leads to significant latency degradation, worker thread starvation, or out-of-memory termination, resulting in a denial of service. |
| Undertow is a flexible performant web server used in JBoss EAP and WildFly. A flaw was found in how Undertow handles WebSocket connections. Specifically, certain configuration limits like message buffer sizes and session timeouts cannot be adjusted and default to being unlimited. This allows a remote attacker to send large amounts of data or maintain connections indefinitely, potentially crashing the server by exhausting its memory or other resources. |
| A flaw was found in FreeIPA. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit a vulnerability in the `/ipa/i18n_messages` endpoint by sending an arbitrarily large request body. This can cause the service to consume excessive memory, leading to memory exhaustion, degraded responsiveness, and a denial of service (DoS) condition. |
| A flaw was found in FreeIPA. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending oversized form POST requests to the `/ipa/migration/migration.py` endpoint. This can force the migration handler to read attacker-controlled request bodies fully into memory, leading to increased memory usage, slower request handling, and potential service disruption or denial of service. |
| Echo is a Go web framework. From 4.0.0 until 4.16.1, Echo v4's opt-in BodyDump middleware reads complete request bodies into memory before handlers run and retains complete response bodies for the dump callback without capture limits. An unauthenticated client that can reach a route using BodyDump can submit large bodies or influence large responses, causing repeated or concurrent allocations that exhaust process memory. BodyDump is not enabled by default, and external request limits may reduce request-side exposure but do not bound response capture. This issue is fixed in 4.16.1. |
| Zulip is an open-source team collaboration tool. In Zulip Server versions through 12.1, the authenticated POST /messages/render endpoint renders the content parameter without enforcing the normal message length limit used by message send and edit operations. An authenticated user can submit Markdown up to the server body-size limit, causing disproportionate backend CPU consumption, and repeated or concurrent requests can degrade Markdown rendering performance or backend availability for other users. This issue is fixed in version 12.2. |
| Abusing the federated share endpoint, an attacker can write arbitrary rows into the oc_share_external database table. These rows persist indefinitely — there is no automatic cleanup mechanism. Three distinct denial-of-service conditions follow from this write primitive, all triggered from the same unauthenticated source and all self-renewing on a 24-hour cycle for as long as the injected rows remain in the database. |
| The asynchronous Smile parser (NonBlockingByteArrayParser) uses a raw-binary length prefix taken from untrusted input to allocate a byte[] before the body is read, with no upper bound and no overflow check. On the raw-binary marker 0xFD, _decodeVInt() computes (value << 6) + (i & 0x3F) without the (value >>> 25) != 0 overflow guard present in the blocking SmileParser._readUnsignedVInt, and _startRawBinary then allocates the declared length immediately.
A Smile feed of roughly ten bytes can therefore force an eager allocation of approximately 2 GB, producing an OutOfMemoryError on reactive or asynchronous Smile endpoints. A VInt crafted to overflow int yields a negative length and a NegativeArraySizeException, a RuntimeException that is not a JacksonException and so escapes the parser contract. Either outcome crashes the request or processing thread.
This is the same class of issue as CVE-2020-28491 in the CBOR parser of this library, which was fixed with a LONGEST_NON_CHUNKED_BINARY guard; the asynchronous Smile parser never received the equivalent guard. No privileges or user interaction beyond the ability to submit data for parsing are required. |

| One CBOR-parsing issue in jackson-dataformats-binary's CBOR module: an unbounded run of CBOR tags drives quadratic-time TagList growth (CPU/GC-exhaustion DoS, PoC-proven).
PoC executed against com.fasterxml.jackson.dataformat:jackson-dataformat-cbor:2.18.2; present in current 2.x and 3.x (tools.jackson.dataformat.cbor) HEAD. Distinct from the Avro and Smile/Protobuf advisories for this repo.
Quadratic CPU/GC DoS from an unbounded chain of CBOR tags (PoC-proven). File: cbor/src/main/java/.../cbor/CBORParser.java (tag handling -> TagList).
CBOR permits a data item to be preceded by any number of semantic tags. The CBOR parser accumulates them in a TagList whose backing array grows by a fixed increment (+8), not by doubling, and re-scans/copies on each growth. An attacker sends a value preceded by a long run of tag bytes; the fixed-increment growth makes accumulating N tags O(N^2) in time (plus GC pressure), with no cap on the number of stacked tags.
PoC (executed, JDK 17): feeding a CBOR stream consisting of a long run of tag bytes (e.g. tag 0xC0+) before a trivial value forces quadratic CPU/GC; parse time grows super-linearly with the tag count, pinning a request thread with no configurable limit.
Impact. Algorithmic-complexity denial of service (CWE-407): a modest input of stacked tags consumes quadratic CPU/GC, pinning a request thread; concurrent requests exhaust the pool.
Fix. Grow TagList by doubling and/or cap the number of stacked tags (StreamReadConstraints-style). |
| A remote attacker may be able to terminate a process that passes attacker-controlled input to the P-384 VOPRF API without bounding its length. This vulnerability is addressed in swift-crypto version 5.0.3. |
| When coalescing adjacent text nodes in addText and fosterParent, appending to an existing TextNode's Data via string concatenation (n.Data += text) reallocated and copied the accumulated string on every token. Inputs containing many short text runs separated by ignored end tags (such as "a</x>") caused O(n^2) allocations and byte copies. Accumulate coalesced text in per-node byte slices during parsing and materialize Data strings once at the end of parse. |
