CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/vkms: Convert to DRM's vblank timer
Replace vkms' vblank timer with the DRM implementation. The DRM
code is identical in concept, but differs in implementation.
Vblank timers are covered in vblank helpers and initializer macros,
so remove the corresponding hrtimer in struct vkms_output. The
vblank timer calls vkms' custom timeout code via handle_vblank_timeout
in struct drm_crtc_helper_funcs. |

io_uring/net: fix io_req_post_cqe abuse by send bundle
[ 114.987980][ T5313] WARNING: CPU: 6 PID: 5313 at io_uring/io_uring.c:872 io_req_post_cqe+0x12e/0x4f0

As the comment states, io_req_post_cqe() should only be used by
multishot requests, i.e. REQ_F_APOLL_MULTISHOT, which bundled sends are
not. Add a flag signifying whether a request wants to post multiple
CQEs. Eventually REQ_F_APOLL_MULTISHOT should imply the new flag, but
that's left out for simplicity. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfsd: fix legacy client tracking initialization
Get rid of the nfsd4_legacy_tracking_ops->init() call in
check_for_legacy_methods(). That will be handled in the caller
(nfsd4_client_tracking_init()). Otherwise, we'll wind up calling
nfsd4_legacy_tracking_ops->init() twice, and the second time we'll
trigger the BUG_ON() in nfsd4_init_recdir(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/i915: Grab intel_display from the encoder to avoid potential oopsies
Grab the intel_display from 'encoder' rather than 'state'
in the encoder hooks to avoid the massive footgun that is
intel_sanitize_encoder(), which passes NULL as the 'state'
argument to encoder .disable() and .post_disable().
TODO: figure out how to actually fix intel_sanitize_encoder()... |

An app may be able to cause unexpected system termination. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/msm: Only fini scheduler after successful init
msm_ringbuffer_new() destroys a partially initialized ring through
msm_ringbuffer_destroy() when an allocation or scheduler setup step
fails.
If drm_sched_init() fails before it finishes initializing the scheduler,
the failure path still calls drm_sched_fini(). That teardown path assumes
the scheduler work items, lists, and workqueue state were initialized.
Track successful scheduler initialization and call drm_sched_fini() only
after drm_sched_init() returned 0.
This issue was found by a static analysis checker and confirmed by
manual source review.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dma-direct: return struct page from dma_direct_alloc_from_pool()
Commit 5b138c534fda ("dma-direct: factor out a dma_direct_alloc_from_pool
helper") changed dma_direct_alloc_from_pool() to return the CPU address
from dma_alloc_from_pool(). That fits dma_direct_alloc(), but
dma_direct_alloc_pages() also uses the helper and expects a struct page *.
Fix this by making dma_direct_alloc_from_pool() return the struct page *
again, and pass the CPU address back through an out-parameter for the
dma_direct_alloc() caller. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: qla2xxx: Initialize NVMe abort_work once at submission
qla_nvme_fcp_abort() and qla_nvme_ls_abort() ran INIT_WORK() on
priv->abort_work immediately before schedule_work(). INIT_WORK()
reinitializes the work_struct, resetting its list head and clearing the
pending bit. If an abort is issued more than once for the same command
(for example, concurrent transport teardown and a timeout-driven abort),
the second INIT_WORK() reinitializes a work item that is already queued,
which can corrupt the workqueue list and lead to crashes or a looping
worker.
Initialize priv->abort_work once at command submission, next to the
existing per-command spin_lock_init(&priv->cmd_lock), and leave only
schedule_work() in the abort paths. schedule_work() already does nothing
when the work item is still pending, so a repeated abort no longer
disturbs an in-flight work item. The command is not returned to the
transport until the final kref_put()/release callback runs after
abort_work has completed, so the work item is idle before priv is reused
and the single submission-time INIT_WORK() is safe. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
f2fs: fix to clear dirty flag on folio in error path
If node block is corrupted due to chksum mismatch or inconsistent
footer info, it needs to drop clear flag of node folio, in order
to persist inconsistent node data to storage. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: tap: fix wrong transport_header when sending VLAN-tagged frame
In tap_get_user_xdp(), when processing a VLAN-tagged frame (e.g.
ETH_P_8021Q), skb_set_network_header() is called first to advance
network_header past the VLAN tag to the inner protocol header.
skb_probe_transport_header() is then called with skb->protocol still
set to ETH_P_8021Q, while nhoff (derived from skb_network_offset())
already points past the VLAN tag to the inner protocol header.
In __skb_flow_dissect(), proto is initialized to ETH_P_8021Q and nhoff
points past the VLAN tag. When the dissector hits case ETH_P_8021Q, it
reads a struct vlan_hdr at the current nhoff via __skb_header_pointer(),
but that offset contains the inner protocol header (e.g. an IP header).
The bytes are misinterpreted as a VLAN header, yielding a garbage
encapsulated EtherType that matches no known protocol. The dissector
returns false, so skb_probe_transport_header() never calls
skb_set_transport_header(), leaving transport_header at its uninitialized
sentinel value (~0U).
Move skb_set_network_header() to after skb_probe_transport_header(). At
the time skb_probe_transport_header() is called, network_header still
points to the VLAN header (offset ETH_HLEN), so nhoff is correct and the
flow dissector can parse the VLAN header, extract the inner EtherType,
and advance nhoff to the inner protocol header, allowing transport_header
to be set correctly. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/tegra: gr2d/gr3d: Initialize address register map before HOST1X client is registered
The host1x_client_register() function is called just prior to register map
initialization loop, making the device available to userspace. This may
result in userspace attempting to submits a job before the register map is
initialized. Address this by moving register initialization before host1x
client registration. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fbdev: Wrap user-invoked calls to fb_set_var() in helper
Handle fbcon during display updates in fb_set_var_from_user(). Check
with fbcon if the mode change is possible, update hardware state and
finally update fbcon. Update all callers.
Only the FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO ioctl currently does all steps. Other
mode-changes callers in sysfs and driver code are missing fbcon-related
steps.
With the new helper, ps3fb and sh_mobile_lcdcfb no longer maintain
fbcon state themselves. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ieee802154: Avoid calling WARN_ON() on -ENOMEM in cfg802154_switch_netns()
It's pointless to call WARN_ON() in case of an allocation failure in
dev_change_net_namespace() and device_rename(), since it only leads to
useless splats caused by deliberate fault injections, so avoid it.
Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ata: sata_dwc_460ex: fix infinite loop in NCQ tag completion bit-scanning
The hand-rolled bit-scanning loop in the NCQ completion path has an
infinite loop bug. When tag_mask has only high bits set (e.g.
0x80000000), the inner while loop left-shifts tag_mask until it
overflows to 0. At that point !(0 & 1) is always true and 0 <<= 1
stays 0, causing an infinite loop in hardirq context with a spinlock
held.
Replace the open-coded bit-scanning with __ffs() which correctly
finds the least significant set bit and is bounded by the width of
the argument. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: core: wake eh reliably when using scsi_schedule_eh
Drivers which use the scsi_schedule_eh function to run the error handler
currently risk the error handler thread never waking once all commands are
timed out or inactive. There is no enforced memory order between setting
the host into error recovery state and counting busy commands. This can
result in a race with scsi_dec_host_busy where neither CPU sees both
conditions of all commands inactive and the host error state to request
waking the error handler.
To fix this, run the scsi_schedule_eh's scsi_eh_wakeup from a new work item
which will use rcu to ensure scsi_schedule_eh's call to scsi_host_busy will
occur after the error state is globally visible and will be seen by any
current scsi_dec_host_busy callers. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
LoongArch: Move jump_label_init() before parse_early_param()
When enabling both CONFIG_MEM_ALLOC_PROFILING=y and
CONFIG_MEM_ALLOC_PROFILING_ENABLED_BY_DEFAULT=y, then diabling memory
profiling by adding the boot parameter 'sysctl.vm.mem_profiling=0' will
cause the kernel failed to boot.
After analysis, this is because jump_label_init() must be called before
parse_early_param(), the early param handlers may modify static keys by
static_branch_enable/disable().
Fix this by moving jump_label_init() to before parse_early_param(). The
solution is similar to other architectures. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfs: Fix folio state after ENOMEM whilst under writeback iteration
Fix the state of the current folio when ENOMEM occurs during writeback
iteration. The folio needs to be redirtied and unlocked before the
terminal writeback_iter() is invoked. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bnxt_en: Handle partially initialized auxiliary devices
bnxt_aux_devices_init() calls auxiliary_device_init() before all fields
used by bnxt_aux_dev_release() are initialized. After
auxiliary_device_init() succeeds, later errors must unwind with
auxiliary_device_uninit(), which invokes the release callback.
The release callback assumes that aux_priv->id, aux_priv->edev,
edev->net and edev->ulp_tbl are all populated. If allocation fails
after auxiliary_device_init(), the release path can otherwise dereference
or clear partially initialized state.
Allocate and attach the bnxt_en_dev and ULP table before calling
auxiliary_device_init(), so the release callback only sees a fully
initialized auxiliary private object. If auxiliary_device_init() itself
fails, free those allocations directly because device_initialize() has not
run and the release callback will not be invoked.
This issue was found by a static analysis checker and confirmed by manual
source review. |
