CVE-2026-122137 1 Romkatv 2 Gitstatus, Powerlevel10k 2026-11-06 6.7 Medium
Powerlevel10k before 1.20.19 contains an insecure temporary directory vulnerability in the bundled gitstatus/install script that reuses attacker-creatable directories when mktemp fails. Local attackers can pre-create the predictable gitstatus-install.tmp directory to replace the extracted gitstatusd binary, which then executes with the victim's privileges.
CVE-2026-104657 1 Progress Software 1 Fiddler Download & Setup Skill 2026-11-06 7.5 High
Missing integrity verification in the Progress Software Fiddler Download and Setup Skill on Linux, macOS, and Windows which allows an attacker to compromise or influence a release component and execute attacker-controlled code when a user runs the skill. On macOS, the skill stages the package at a predictable path and installs it with administrator privileges, which may allow code execution with root privileges after user approval. A local process may also replace the staged macOS package while the skill waits for approval.
CVE-2026-73585 1 Redhat 2 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Els 2026-11-05 6.3 Medium
A flaw was found in sblim-cmpi-base. Insecure temporary file creation in the provider registration scripts allows a local unprivileged user to perform a symlink attack. By creating a symlink in a world-writable directory, an attacker can redirect privileged writes to an arbitrary file during script execution in a privileged context. This can lead to the overwrite of root-owned files, potentially disrupting system services or operation. Exploitation is conditional on the script running with elevated privileges and may be mitigated by sticky-directory symlink protections.
CVE-2026-73584 1 Redhat 2 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Els 2026-11-05 6.3 Medium
A flaw was found in sblim-sfcb. A local, low-privileged attacker can exploit a race condition during privileged instance migration by manipulating a temporary file in the `/tmp` directory. By repeatedly recreating a symbolic link, the attacker can redirect privileged output to an arbitrary file. This can lead to privileged file corruption or a denial of service (DoS) on the system.
CVE-2024-7358 2 Getscreen, Point B Ltd 3 Getscreen, Getscreen Agent, Getscreen Agent 2026-11-05 7.8 High
A vulnerability was detected in Point B Ltd Getscreen Agent up to 2.19.6/3.9.4 on Windows. This affects an unknown function of the file getscreen.msi of the component MSI Installer. The manipulation results in creation of temporary file with insecure permissions. The attack is only possible with local access. The exploit is now public and may be used. Upgrading to version 3.9.5 mitigates this issue. Upgrading the affected component is advised.
CVE-2026-121549 1 Jarun 1 Nnn 2026-11-03 4.4 Medium
nnn through 5.3 contains an insecure temporary file vulnerability in the pdfread and nuke plugins that allows local attackers to overwrite files by exploiting predictable paths in /tmp. Attackers can pre-create a symlink at the name-derived or PID-derived path so the victim's plugin truncates and overwrites any file the victim can write.
CVE-2019-12439 2 Projectatomic, Redhat 2 Bubblewrap, Cloudforms Managementengine 2026-11-02 N/A
bubblewrap.c in Bubblewrap before 0.3.3 misuses temporary directories in /tmp as a mount point. In some particular configurations (related to XDG_RUNTIME_DIR), a local attacker may abuse this flaw to prevent other users from executing bubblewrap or potentially execute code.
CVE-2026-97209 1 Elixir-lang 1 Elixir 2026-10-30 7.0 High
Insecure Temporary File vulnerability in Mix deps.partition in Elixir allows a local user to execute code as another user via a swapped partition config file. Partitioned dependency compilation passes the project configuration to each partition VM through a file in a fixed-name directory under the shared system temporary directory, and the partition trusts what it reads back. Another local user on the same host can exploit this during a mix deps.compile run that uses partitioned compilation. Mix.Tasks.Deps.Partition.server/4 in lib/mix/lib/mix/tasks/deps.partition.ex creates the directory with File.mkdir_p/1, which accepts an existing directory without checking its owner, so a user who created it first can replace the file before client/0 reads it. This issue affects mix: from 1.20.0-rc.4 before 1.20.5.
CVE-2007-6061 1 Audacityteam 1 Audacity 2026-04-23 N/A
Audacity 1.3.2 creates a temporary directory with a predictable name without checking for previous existence of that directory, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (recording deadlock) by creating the directory before Audacity is run. NOTE: this issue can be leveraged to delete arbitrary files or directories via a symlink attack.
CVE-2008-5153 1 Moodle 1 Moodle 2026-04-23 N/A
spell-check-logic.cgi in Moodle 1.8.2 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the (1) /tmp/spell-check-debug.log, (2) /tmp/spell-check-before, or (3) /tmp/spell-check-after temporary file.
CVE-2007-3919 3 Debian, Redhat, Xensource Inc 3 Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux, Xen 2026-04-23 N/A
(1) xenbaked and (2) xenmon.py in Xen 3.1 and earlier allow local users to truncate arbitrary files via a symlink attack on /tmp/xenq-shm.
CVE-2008-1694 1 Gnu 2 Emacs, Sccs 2026-04-23 N/A
vcdiff in Emacs 20.7 to 22.1.50, when used with SCCS, allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on temporary files.
CVE-2008-5148 1 Geda 1 Gnetlist 2026-04-23 N/A
sch2eaglepos.sh in geda-gnetlist 1.4.0 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a /tmp/##### temporary file.
