CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
udp: Fix wildcard bind conflict check when using hash2
When binding a udp_sock to a local address and port, UDP uses
two hashes (udptable->hash and udptable->hash2) for collision
detection. The current code switches to "hash2" when
hslot->count > 10.
"hash2" is keyed by local address and local port.
"hash" is keyed by local port only.
The issue can be shown in the following bind sequence (pseudo code):
bind(fd1, "[fd00::1]:8888")
bind(fd2, "[fd00::2]:8888")
bind(fd3, "[fd00::3]:8888")
bind(fd4, "[fd00::4]:8888")
bind(fd5, "[fd00::5]:8888")
bind(fd6, "[fd00::6]:8888")
bind(fd7, "[fd00::7]:8888")
bind(fd8, "[fd00::8]:8888")
bind(fd9, "[fd00::9]:8888")
bind(fd10, "[fd00::10]:8888")
/* Correctly return -EADDRINUSE because "hash" is used
* instead of "hash2". udp_lib_lport_inuse() detects the
* conflict.
*/
bind(fail_fd, "[::]:8888")
/* After one more socket is bound to "[fd00::11]:8888",
* hslot->count exceeds 10 and "hash2" is used instead.
*/
bind(fd11, "[fd00::11]:8888")
bind(fail_fd, "[::]:8888") /* succeeds unexpectedly */
The same issue applies to the IPv4 wildcard address "0.0.0.0"
and the IPv4-mapped wildcard address "::ffff:0.0.0.0". For
example, if there are existing sockets bound to
"192.168.1.[1-11]:8888", then binding "0.0.0.0:8888" or
"[::ffff:0.0.0.0]:8888" can also miss the conflict when
hslot->count > 10.
TCP inet_csk_get_port() already has the correct check in
inet_use_bhash2_on_bind(). Rename it to
inet_use_hash2_on_bind() and move it to inet_hashtables.h
so udp.c can reuse it in this fix. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
virtiofs: add filesystem context source name check
In certain scenarios, for example, during fuzz testing, the source
name may be NULL, which could lead to a kernel panic. Therefore, an
extra check for the source name should be added. |
| ModSecurity is an open source, cross platform web application firewall (WAF) engine for Apache, IIS and Nginx. From 3.0.5 until 3.0.17, the PCRE2 implementation of @rxGlobal in src/utils/regex.cc converts pcre2_match match-limit errors into an ordinary no-match result instead of propagating a non-OK RegexResult. When attacker-controlled input exhausts SecPcreMatchLimit, rules that rely on MSC_PCRE_LIMITS_EXCEEDED or its TX compatibility indicator do not run, so a request that should be rejected can pass through the WAF. The issue affects PCRE2 deployments that use @rxGlobal with a limit-exhaustible expression and a compensating rule; it is not a universal WAF bypass. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.17. |
| Envoy is a cloud-native, open source edge and service proxy. When an upstream TLS cluster is used with `auto_sni` enabled, a request containing a `host`/`:authority` header longer than 255 characters triggers an abnormal termination of Envoy process. Envoy does not gracefully handle an error when setting SNI for outbound TLS connection. The error can occur when Envoy attempts to use the `host`/`:authority` header value longer than 255 characters as SNI for outbound TLS connection. SNI length is limited to 255 characters per the standard. Envoy always expects this operation to succeed and abnormally aborts the process when it fails. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.30.1, 1.29.4, 1.28.3, and 1.27.5. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vhost: fix vhost_get_avail_idx for a non empty ring
vhost_get_avail_idx is supposed to report whether it has updated
vq->avail_idx. Instead, it returns whether all entries have been
consumed, which is usually the same. But not always - in
drivers/vhost/net.c and when mergeable buffers have been enabled, the
driver checks whether the combined entries are big enough to store an
incoming packet. If not, the driver re-enables notifications with
available entries still in the ring. The incorrect return value from
vhost_get_avail_idx propagates through vhost_enable_notify and causes
the host to livelock if the guest is not making progress, as vhost will
immediately disable notifications and retry using the available entries.
This goes back to commit d3bb267bbdcb ("vhost: cache avail index in
vhost_enable_notify()") which changed vhost_enable_notify() to compare
the freshly read avail index against vq->last_avail_idx instead of the
previously cached vq->avail_idx. Commit 7ad472397667 ("vhost: move
smp_rmb() into vhost_get_avail_idx()") then carried over the same
comparison when refactoring vhost_enable_notify() to call the unified
vhost_get_avail_idx().
The obvious fix is to make vhost_get_avail_idx do what the comment
says it does and report whether new entries have been added. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
perf/x86/intel/uncore: Fix die ID init and look up bugs
In snbep_pci2phy_map_init(), in the nr_node_ids > 8 path,
uncore_device_to_die() may return -1 when all CPUs associated
with the UBOX device are offline.
Remove the WARN_ON_ONCE(die_id == -1) check for two reasons:
- The current code breaks out of the loop. This is incorrect because
pci_get_device() does not guarantee iteration in domain or bus order,
so additional UBOX devices may be skipped during the scan.
- Returning -EINVAL is incorrect, since marking offline buses with
die_id == -1 is expected and should not be treated as an error.
Separately, when NUMA is disabled on a NUMA-capable platform,
pcibus_to_node() returns NUMA_NO_NODE, causing uncore_device_to_die()
to return -1 for all PCI devices. As a result,
spr_update_device_location(), used on Intel SPR and EMR, ignores the
corresponding PMON units and does not add them to the RB tree.
Fix this by using uncore_pcibus_to_dieid(), which retrieves topology
from the UBOX GIDNIDMAP register and works regardless of whether NUMA
is enabled in Linux. This requires snbep_pci2phy_map_init() to be
added in spr_uncore_pci_init().
Keep uncore_device_to_die() only for the nr_node_ids > 8 case, where
NUMA is expected to be enabled. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs,fsverity: remove check for fsverity being enabled in setattr_prepare()
The check that fs-verity is available in the kernel is not necessary
here. Filesystems could have fsverity files even without fs-verity
enabled. In that case, truncate on fsverity file will succeed, what this
check is trying to prevent. |
| An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.2.13. nbd_genl_status in drivers/block/nbd.c does not check the nla_nest_start_noflag return value. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: arm64: nv: Inject SEA if kvm_translate_vncr() can't resolve PFN
kvm_handle_vncr_abort() assumes that s1_walk_result conveys an abort
when kvm_translate_vncr() returns -EFAULT. This is not always the case
as it's possible to encounter 'late' failures on the output of S1
translation, e.g. a GFN outside of the memslots.
Fix it by preparing an external abort before returning from
kvm_translate_vncr(). Get rid of the BUG_ON() in the fault injection
path while at it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfs: propagate errors from xfs_rtginode_load
xfs_rtginode_ensure() treats every xfs_rtginode_load() error other than
-ENOENT as success. This can leave the realtime group inode unset after an
I/O, allocation, or corruption error. Growfs then continues as though the
inode had been loaded.
Only -ENOENT means that the inode needs to be created. Return all other
errors to the growfs caller. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sysfs: don't remove existing directory on update failure
When sysfs_update_group() is called for a named group and create_files()
fails (e.g. -ENOMEM), internal_create_group() calls kernfs_remove(kn) on
the group directory. In the update path, kn was obtained via
kernfs_find_and_get() and refers to a directory that already existed
before this call. Removing it silently destroys a sysfs group that the
caller did not create.
Only remove the directory if we created it ourselves. On update failure
the directory remains as it is left empty by remove_files() inside
create_files(), but can be repopulated by a retry. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/vc4: fix krealloc() memory leak
Don't just overwrite the original pointer passed to krealloc()
with its return value without checking latter:
MEM = krealloc(MEM, SZ, GFP);
If krealloc() returns NULL, that erases the pointer
to the still allocated memory, hence leaks this memory.
Instead, use a temporary variable, check it's not NULL
and only then assign it to the original pointer:
TMP = krealloc(MEM, SZ, GFP);
if (!TMP) return;
MEM = TMP;
While on it, use krealloc_array(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
kprobes: avoid crash when rmmod/insmod after ftrace killed
After we hit ftrace is killed by some errors, the kernel crash if
we remove modules in which kprobe probes.

This is because the kprobe on ftrace does not correctly handles
the kprobe_ftrace_disabled flag set by ftrace_kill().
To prevent this error, check kprobe_ftrace_disabled in
__disarm_kprobe_ftrace() and skip all ftrace related operations. |
| A security flaw has been discovered in GNU Binutils 2.45. Impacted is the function tg_tag_type of the file prdbg.c. Performing a manipulation results in unchecked return value. The attack needs to be approached locally. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pstore: ram_core: fix incorrect success return when vmap() fails
In persistent_ram_vmap(), vmap() may return NULL on failure.
If offset is non-zero, adding offset_in_page(start) causes the function
to return a non-NULL pointer even though the mapping failed.
persistent_ram_buffer_map() therefore incorrectly returns success.
Subsequent access to prz->buffer may dereference an invalid address
and cause crashes.
Add proper NULL checking for vmap() failures. |
| drivers/uwb/uwbd.c in the Linux kernel before 4.13.6 allows local users to cause a denial of service (general protection fault and system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted USB device. |
| In PHP before 5.6.31, 7.x before 7.0.21, and 7.1.x before 7.1.7, the openssl extension PEM sealing code did not check the return value of the OpenSSL sealing function, which could lead to a crash of the PHP interpreter, related to an interpretation conflict for a negative number in ext/openssl/openssl.c, and an OpenSSL documentation omission. |
| It was found that the Keycloak Node.js adapter 2.5 - 3.0 did not handle invalid tokens correctly. An attacker could use this flaw to bypass authentication and gain access to restricted information, or to possibly conduct further attacks. |
| The manager_dispatch_notify_fd function in systemd allows local users to cause a denial of service (system hang) via a zero-length message received over a notify socket, which causes an error to be returned and the notification handler to be disabled. |
| The key_reject_and_link function in security/keys/key.c in the Linux kernel through 4.6.3 does not ensure that a certain data structure is initialized, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (system crash) via vectors involving a crafted keyctl request2 command. |
