CVE-2026-90436 1 Apache 1 Axis 2026-11-06 N/A
** UNSUPPORTED WHEN ASSIGNED ** Deserialization of an inbound SOAP fault in Apache Axis 1.x allows unauthenticated remote class instantiation. When a SOAP <Fault> carries a <detail><exceptionName> element, Axis loads the named class and, if a String <data> element is also present, instantiates it through its String constructor before checking that it is an AxisFault. Loading alone runs the class's static initializer. With a suitable class on the application's classpath this leads to remote code execution. The fault is parsed while the engine resolves the target service, before any per-service handler chain runs, so authentication handlers configured on a service do not protect against it. This affects all Apache Axis 1.x versions through 1.4. As Axis 1 has been EOL we recommend you migrate to a different SOAP engine, such as Apache Axis 2/Java. Alternatively you could use a build of Axis with the patch from https://github.com/apache/axis-axis1-java/commit/41f3b4e8d04e310ca81f86b92630ab2c11d608bd applied. The Apache Axis project does not expect to create an Axis 1.x release fixing this problem.
CVE-2007-2353 1 Apache 1 Axis 2026-04-23 N/A
Apache Axis 1.0 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information by requesting a non-existent WSDL file, which reveals the installation path in the resulting exception message.
CVE-2018-8032 3 Apache, Debian, Oracle 38 Axis, Debian Linux, Agile Engineering Data Management and 35 more 2025-05-08 6.1 Medium
Apache Axis 1.x up to and including 1.4 is vulnerable to a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack in the default servlet/services.
CVE-2019-0227 2 Apache, Oracle 37 Axis, Agile Engineering Data Management, Agile Product Lifecycle Management and 34 more 2025-05-08 7.5 High
A Server Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability affected the Apache Axis 1.4 distribution that was last released in 2006. Security and bug commits commits continue in the projects Axis 1.x Subversion repository, legacy users are encouraged to build from source. The successor to Axis 1.x is Axis2, the latest version is 1.7.9 and is not vulnerable to this issue.
CVE-2014-3596 2 Apache, Redhat 3 Axis, Enterprise Linux, Jboss Enterprise Portal Platform 2025-04-12 N/A
The getCN function in Apache Axis 1.4 and earlier does not properly verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via a certificate with a subject that specifies a common name in a field that is not the CN field. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2012-5784.
CVE-2012-5351 1 Apache 1 Axis2 2025-04-11 N/A
Apache Axis2 allows remote attackers to forge messages and bypass authentication via a SAML assertion that lacks a Signature element, aka a "Signature exclusion attack," a different vulnerability than CVE-2012-4418.
CVE-2012-5784 3 Apache, Paypal, Redhat 8 Activemq, Axis, Mass Pay and 5 more 2025-04-11 N/A
Apache Axis 1.4 and earlier, as used in PayPal Payments Pro, PayPal Mass Pay, PayPal Transactional Information SOAP, the Java Message Service implementation in Apache ActiveMQ, and other products, does not verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via an arbitrary valid certificate.
CVE-2012-5785 1 Apache 1 Axis2 2025-04-11 N/A
Apache Axis2/Java 1.6.2 and earlier does not verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via an arbitrary valid certificate.
CVE-2010-1632 2 Apache, Ibm 6 Axis2, Geronimo, Orchestration Director Engine and 3 more 2025-04-11 N/A
Apache Axis2 before 1.5.2, as used in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 7.0 through 7.0.0.12, IBM Feature Pack for Web Services 6.1.0.9 through 6.1.0.32, IBM Feature Pack for Web 2.0 1.0.1.0, Apache Synapse, Apache ODE, Apache Tuscany, Apache Geronimo, and other products, does not properly reject DTDs in SOAP messages, which allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files, send HTTP requests to intranet servers, or cause a denial of service (CPU and memory consumption) via a crafted DTD, as demonstrated by an entity declaration in a request to the Synapse SimpleStockQuoteService.
CVE-2010-0219 2 Apache, Sap 2 Axis2, Businessobjects 2025-04-11 N/A
Apache Axis2, as used in dswsbobje.war in SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.2, CA ARCserve D2D r15, and other products, has a default password of axis2 for the admin account, which makes it easier for remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by uploading a crafted web service.
CVE-2010-2103 3 3com, Apache, Sap 3 Intelligent Management Center, Axis2, Business Objects 2025-04-11 N/A
Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in axis2-admin/axis2-admin/engagingglobally in the administration console in Apache Axis2/Java 1.4.1, 1.5.1, and possibly other versions, as used in SAP Business Objects 12, 3com IMC, and possibly other products, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the modules parameter. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
CVE-2012-4418 1 Apache 1 Axis2 2025-04-11 N/A
Apache Axis2 allows remote attackers to forge messages and bypass authentication via an "XML Signature wrapping attack."
