Attackers can send GET requests to /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php with fn set to ../../wp-config.php to retrieve database credentials and secret keys. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19. |
Aspose PDF Exporter plugin for WordPress before 2.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download files through the unsanitized 'file' parameter passed to readfile(). Attackers can send GET requests to aspose_pdf_exporter_download.php with traversal sequences like ../../../wp-config.php to retrieve WordPress database credentials. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19.
TinyMCE Thumbnail Gallery plugin for WordPress before 1.1.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files via the href parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to /php/download-image.php with traversal sequences like ../../../../wp-config.php to retrieve database credentials and system files. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19.
Cherry Plugin for WordPress before 1.2.7 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download arbitrary files via the 'file' parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to /admin/import-export/download-content.php with traversal sequences like ../../../../../wp-config.php to read database credentials, since the script passes input directly to readfile(). Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19.
Aspose Doc Exporter plugin for WordPress before 2.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download arbitrary files by passing unsanitized paths to readfile(). Attackers can send GET requests to aspose_doc_exporter_download.php with the 'file' parameter set to values like ../../../wp-config.php to retrieve database credentials. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-23.
Caucho Resin contains a path traversal vulnerability in the documentation webapp (resin-doc) that allows remote unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files by supplying a relative path through the inputFile request parameter of the jndi-appconfig tutorial servlet. Attackers can craft requests with directory traversal sequences to the servlet endpoint to read files outside the intended tutorial directory on the underlying system. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2021-12-10.
EyeLock nano NXT 3.05.1193, 3.04.1108, 3.03.944, and 3.01.646 contain a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files via the 'path' parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to /scripts/logdownload.php with traversal sequences like ../../etc/passwd, which readfile() returns unvalidated, disclosing local system files. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19.
NativeChurch theme for WordPress before 1.6.2 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download arbitrary files through the file parameter of download.php. Attackers can send GET requests with directory traversal sequences in the file parameter to retrieve sensitive files like wp-config.php. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19.
Memphis Documents Library plugin for WordPress before 3.1.6 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files via the mdocs-img-preview parameter. Attackers can send GET requests with traversal sequences to mdocs_img_preview() in mdocs-downloads.php to download wp-config.php containing database credentials. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-22.
ChurcHope theme for WordPress before 2.2 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download arbitrary files through the 'file' parameter of /wp-content/themes/churchope/lib/downloadlink.php. Attackers can supply directory traversal sequences to read sensitive files like wp-config.php or /etc/passwd, exposing database credentials. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-18.
| As part of Cisco's ongoing commitment to proactive security and product quality, engineering teams for Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM), Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM & Presence Service (Unified CM IM&P), Cisco Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition (Unified CM SME), and Cisco Unity Connection have conducted a comprehensive internal security review. This review resulted in software hardening releases that address multiple internally discovered vulnerabilities.
The vulnerabilities tracked by CVE-2026-76479 are related to issues concerning improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory that are grouped under the Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) Base CWE-22. |
Intermesh Group-Office 3.3.0 before 3.5.5 contains an unauthenticated path traversal vulnerability in compress.php that allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files by manipulating the 'file' parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to /compress.php with '../' sequences in the 'file' parameter, which is appended to the cache path and passed to readfile(), to read files such as /etc/passwd. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-21.
Aspose Importer & Exporter plugin for WordPress before 3.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download arbitrary files via the unsanitized 'file' parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to aspose_import_export_download.php with traversal sequences like ../../../wp-config.php to read database credentials. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-20.
Directory traversal vulnerability in ZZIPlib 0.13.69 allows attackers to overwrite arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in a zip file, because of the function unzzip_cat in the bins/unzzipcat-mem.c file.
The Mapper component in Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.30, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 processes redirects before considering security constraints and Filters, which allows remote attackers to determine the existence of a directory via a URL that lacks a trailing / (slash) character.
Directory traversal vulnerability in RequestUtil.java in Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.65, and 8.x before 8.0.27 allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and list a parent directory via a /.. (slash dot dot) in a pathname used by a web application in a getResource, getResourceAsStream, or getResourcePaths call, as demonstrated by the $CATALINA_BASE/webapps directory.
There's a flaw in Python 3's pydoc. A local or adjacent attacker who discovers or is able to convince another local or adjacent user to start a pydoc server could access the server and use it to disclose sensitive information belonging to the other user that they would not normally be able to access. The highest risk of this flaw is to data confidentiality. This flaw affects Python versions before 3.8.9, Python versions before 3.9.3 and Python versions before 3.10.0a7.
urllib in Python 2.x through 2.7.16 supports the local_file: scheme, which makes it easier for remote attackers to bypass protection mechanisms that blacklist file: URIs, as demonstrated by triggering a urllib.urlopen('local_file:///etc/passwd') call.
An issue was discovered in OpenSSH 7.9. Due to the scp implementation being derived from 1983 rcp, the server chooses which files/directories are sent to the client. However, the scp client only performs cursory validation of the object name returned (only directory traversal attacks are prevented). A malicious scp server (or Man-in-The-Middle attacker) can overwrite arbitrary files in the scp client target directory. If recursive operation (-r) is performed, the server can manipulate subdirectories as well (for example, to overwrite the .ssh/authorized_keys file).
An issue has been fixed in Qt versions 5.14.0 where QPluginLoader attempts to load plugins relative to the working directory, allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted files.
