CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cpuidle: Skip governor when only one idle state is available
On certain platforms (PowerNV systems without a power-mgt DT node),
cpuidle may register only a single idle state. In cases where that
single state is a polling state (state 0), the ladder governor may
incorrectly treat state 1 as the first usable state and pass an
out-of-bounds index. This can lead to a NULL enter callback being
invoked, ultimately resulting in a system crash.
[ 13.342636] cpuidle-powernv : Only Snooze is available
[ 13.351854] Faulting instruction address: 0x00000000
[ 13.376489] NIP [0000000000000000] 0x0
[ 13.378351] LR [c000000001e01974] cpuidle_enter_state+0x2c4/0x668
Fix this by adding a bail-out in cpuidle_select() that returns state 0
directly when state_count <= 1, bypassing the governor and keeping the
tick running. |
| pgAdmin 4's Import/Export Data tool wraps a user's query export in a psql \copy (...) TO command and checks that the query's parentheses are balanced so that nothing can escape the wrapper. The check rejected a backslash inside a single-quoted string, but not inside a double-quoted identifier, where it treated the next double quote as closing the identifier. psql's \copy parser applies the connection's escape character to whichever quote opened a token, so with standard_conforming_strings off a backslash-escaped double quote does not close the identifier. pgAdmin's and psql's view of the quoting then diverged, a closing parenthesis hidden from the check ended the \copy (...) wrapper, and a following TO PROGRAM clause was executed by psql on the pgAdmin host, as the operating-system account running pgAdmin, before the server rejected the statement. An ordinary database role can turn standard_conforming_strings off for itself, and the Import/Export Data permission is granted to non-administrators by default.
This is a bypass of the fix for CVE-2026-17566. The fix rejects any backslash inside a double-quoted identifier, as was already done for single-quoted strings, since its meaning depends on a server setting that cannot be known reliably when the query is validated.
This issue affects pgAdmin 4: before 9.19. |
| Starlet versions before 0.33 for Perl allow a request declaring a large Content-Length to kill a worker by exhausting memory.
The request body is read in a loop that asks sysread for all of the remaining declared length at once. Perl grows the read buffer to that size before any data arrives, so a length larger than available memory makes the worker exit with an uncatchable out of memory error before the application is called.
A remote attacker can force a worker restart with each request of a few bytes. |
| An out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the Qt Framework assimp scene import plugin of the Qt3D module. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: reject SetEA requests that do not fit the request buffer
CIFSSMBSetEA() copies the caller's extended attribute value into the
SMB request buffer without checking that it fits. The requirement is
stated in the source but was never implemented:
/*BB add length check to see if it would fit in
negotiated SMB buffer size BB */
/* if (ea_value_len > buffer_size - 512 (enough for header)) */
if (ea_value_len)
memcpy(parm_data->list.name + name_len + 1,
ea_value, ea_value_len);
The only bound applied on the way in is in cifs_xattr_set():
#define MAX_EA_VALUE_SIZE CIFSMaxBufSize
...
if (size > MAX_EA_VALUE_SIZE)
CIFSMaxBufSize is the full payload capacity of the buffer, so a value
of exactly that size leaves no room for the SMB header, the TRANS2
parameter block, the fealist header and the EA name that are written
ahead of it in the same object.
SendReceive() already enforces the correct limit on this very length:
if (in_len > CIFSMaxBufSize + MAX_CIFS_HDR_SIZE)
but it is called after the copy has taken place. An unprivileged
setxattr(2) on an SMB1 mount with a 250-byte name and a 16384-byte
value writes 16384 bytes starting 345 bytes into a 16588-byte
cifs_request object, ending 141 bytes past it:
BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in CIFSSMBSetEA+0xabc/0xde0
Write of size 16384 at addr ffff888003aa0159 by task init/68
__asan_memcpy+0x3c/0x60
CIFSSMBSetEA+0xabc/0xde0
cifs_xattr_set+0xd3a/0xff0
__vfs_setxattr+0x13e/0x1a0
The buggy address is located 345 bytes inside of
allocated 16588-byte region
Apply SendReceive()'s limit to the assembled request before the copy
rather than after it, and widen the byte counters so the sum cannot
wrap before it is tested.
byte_count is also tested against U16_MAX, because it is stored in the
16-bit pSMB->ByteCount. That becomes reachable when CIFSMaxBufSize is
raised at module load, where it may be set as high as 1024*127: with a
5-byte EA name and a 65521-byte value, count is exactly U16_MAX while
byte_count is 65556, and cpu_to_le16() would truncate it to 20 and
transmit a frame whose ByteCount does not match its length. Testing
byte_count covers count as well, since byte_count is the larger of the
two and count's only 16-bit consumer is written after this point.
check_add_overflow() is evaluated first so that total_len is assigned
before it is reported. |
| SDL_mixer 3.1.2 through 3.2.4 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in FetchXLaw() in src/decoder_aiff.c due to miscalculated output offsets when expanding A-law or mu-law samples. Attackers can supply a crafted AIFF-C file that overwrites roughly 1 KB of adjacent stack memory when decoded, causing crashes or potential code execution. |
| ASN1SCC is an open source ASN.1 compiler for embedded systems. Prior to 4.7.0.1, BitStream_DecodeConstraintWholeNumber in asn1crt/asn1crt_encoding.c reads enough bits for a constrained integer but does not reject values above the declared range when the encoded range is not a power of two. Generated uPER and ACN decoders for variable-size SEQUENCE OF, OCTET STRING, BIT STRING, and string values use the invalid result as a loop or copy length, so a crafted over-range size field can write beyond a destination buffer. Decoding untrusted affected data can corrupt heap or stack memory, cause a crash, or potentially permit code execution. This issue is fixed in version 4.7.0.1. |
| ASN1SCC is an open source ASN.1 compiler for embedded systems. Prior to 4.7.0.1, the XER tokenizer NT() in asn1crt/asn1crt_encoding_xer.c, which is reached by all XER decode paths, copies tag characters into a fixed char Value[100] field without a length bound and reads input and lookahead bytes without checking the buffer count. A crafted XER message with an overlong tag can overwrite the tokenizer's stack frame, while a truncated tag or unterminated processing-instruction or comment sequence can read beyond the input and may cause a CPU spin. The flaws can disclose adjacent memory, corrupt stack data, crash or hang the decoder, and potentially permit code execution. This issue is fixed in version 4.7.0.1. |
| WebAssembly Micro Runtime (WAMR) is a lightweight standalone WebAssembly (Wasm) runtime. Prior to 2.4.5, the two-pass fast interpreter loader in core/iwasm/interpreter/wasm_loader.c can make inconsistent constant-table decisions between the sizing pass and the emitting pass. After duplicate constants inflate the first pass beyond the constant-slot limit, wasm_loader_get_const_offset emits later constants inline, but the between-pass sort and deduplication reduces the table so the second pass can choose table references and cause reserve_block_ret to emit additional copy operands that were not included in code_compiled_peak_size. A crafted module can therefore make the second pass write partially attacker-controlled compiled-code data beyond the heap buffer allocated from the first pass's size calculation during wasm_runtime_load, before guest code executes. This can corrupt host heap metadata and deterministically crash the process, causing denial of service; further consequences depend on the host application's heap layout. Builds using WAMR_BUILD_FAST_INTERP=1 are affected; disabling the fast interpreter avoids the vulnerable loader. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.5. |
| VRPN through 07.36 contains an out-of-bounds stack write vulnerability in vrpn_Endpoint::handle_sender_message() and handle_type_message() that allows unauthenticated remote peers to write outside a stack buffer via an unchecked length index. Attackers can connect, complete the version-cookie exchange, and send a SENDER_DESCRIPTION or TYPE_DESCRIPTION message with an out-of-range or negative index to crash the process. |
| libnxml before 0.18.6 contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in src/nxml_parser.c that allows remote attackers to write past a 1024-byte stack buffer via long XML names. Attackers can supply XML or RSS feeds with a 1022-character element, attribute, DOCTYPE or entity name ending in a multi-byte UTF-8 character to crash parsing applications. |
| AG2 is an open-source AgentOS. From 0.13.2 until ag2 1.1.1, and from autogen 0.13.2 to 0.14.1, SandboxShellTool configurations using allowed=[...] or readonly=True rely on ShellAdapter._filter and contains_shell_operator in ag2/tools/sandbox/filter.py and ag2/tools/sandbox/adapter/shell.py to validate a command prefix and reject selected shell syntax. The filter omits newline and carriage-return separators, while the accepted raw string is passed to sh -c, allowing an attacker-influenced agent command to execute an additional arbitrary statement. With the default LocalEnvironment backend, the injected statement runs as a host subprocess with the privileges of the agent process and can affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This issue is fixed in ag2 version 1.1.1. |
| Git for Windows is the Windows port of Git. From 2.44.0.windows.1 until 2.55.0.windows.3, the git-credential-wincred store operation in contrib/credential/wincred/git-credential-wincred.c uses _scwprintf() to size a formatted wide-character credential buffer without space for the terminating NUL when both password and oauth_refresh_token are present. The operation also passes a byte count to _snwprintf_s() where a wide-character count is required, allowing the terminator to be written one WCHAR past the heap allocation before CredWriteW() persists the credential. The resulting fixed two-byte NUL overwrite can terminate the helper with Windows heap-corruption status and can cause git credential approve to report success even though the OAuth credential was not stored. This issue is fixed in version 2.55.0.windows.3. |
| Git for Windows is the Windows port of Git. From 2.43.0.windows.1 until 2.55.0.windows.3, when a matching git:* credential exists in Windows Credential Manager and a git-credential-wincred erase input includes a password field, the operation in contrib/credential/wincred/git-credential-wincred.c allocates a buffer of exactly CredentialBlobSize bytes in match_cred_password() and then uses wcsncpy_s() to copy the corresponding number of wide characters plus a terminating NUL. The destination capacity is also supplied in bytes instead of WCHAR elements, allowing a fixed two-byte NUL write past the allocation before the password comparison determines whether CredDeleteW() should remove the credential; erase without a password field does not enter this comparison path. The helper can terminate with Windows heap-corruption status, and git credential reject can appear successful while the rejected credential remains stored. This issue is fixed in version 2.55.0.windows.3. |
| musl libc before 1.2.7, when an untrusted regular expression is used with regcomp, has multiple integer overflows, possibly leading to incorrect allocation sizes and out-of-bounds heap writes. |
| A local privilege escalation vulnerability in Thales SafeNet Authentication Client (SAC) SACSrv can allow an authenticated, non-administrator local user to trigger a heap-based buffer overflow through the service interface. Successful exploitation may allow arbitrary code execution with Local System privileges.This issue affects SAC releases up to and including 10.9 R3 GA (build 10.9.7449). |
| A stack-based buffer overflow in Thales SafeNet Authentication Client (SAC) SIS token engine processing can be triggered by a malicious physical or software-emulated smart card. The issue can occur before authentication or PIN entry and may
cause a denial of service or potentially arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the affected process. Affected releases start with SAC 10.8 R7 and include SAC 10.9 R3 GA (build 10.9.7449). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: Use kvfree instead of kfree in amdgpu_gmc_get_nps_memranges()
amdgpu_discovery_get_nps_info() internally allocates memory for ranges
using kvcalloc(), which may use vmalloc() for large allocation. Using
kfree() to release vmalloc memory will lead to a memory corruption.
Use kvfree() to safely handle both kmalloc and vmalloc allocations.
Compile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool
and code review. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
APEI/GHES: ensure that won't go past CPER allocated record
The logic at ghes_new() prevents allocating too large records, by
checking if they're bigger than GHES_ESTATUS_MAX_SIZE (currently, 64KB).
Yet, the allocation is done with the actual number of pages from the
CPER bios table location, which can be smaller.
Yet, a bad firmware could send data with a different size, which might
be bigger than the allocated memory, causing an OOPS:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: MGMT: validate LTK enc_size on load
Load Long Term Keys stores the user-provided enc_size and later uses
it to size fixed-size stack operations when replying to LE LTK
requests. An enc_size larger than the 16-byte key buffer can therefore
overflow the reply stack buffer.
Reject oversized enc_size values while validating the management LTK
record so invalid keys never reach the stored key state. |
