CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
perf/core: Fix WARN_ON(!ctx) in __free_event() for partial init
Move the get_ctx(child_ctx) call and the child_event->ctx assignment to
occur immediately after the child event is allocated. Ensure that
child_event->ctx is non-NULL before any subsequent error path within
inherit_event calls free_event(), satisfying the assumptions of the
cleanup code.
Details:
There's no clear Fixes tag, because this bug is a side-effect of
multiple interacting commits over time (up to 15 years old), not
a single regression.
The code initially incremented refcount then assigned context
immediately after the child_event was created. Later, an early
validity check for child_event was added before the
refcount/assignment. Even later, a WARN_ON_ONCE() cleanup check was
added, assuming event->ctx is valid if the pmu_ctx is valid.
The problem is that the WARN_ON_ONCE() could trigger after the initial
check passed but before child_event->ctx was assigned, violating its
precondition. The solution is to assign child_event->ctx right after
its initial validation. This ensures the context exists for any
subsequent checks or cleanup routines, resolving the WARN_ON_ONCE().
To resolve it, defer the refcount update and child_event->ctx assignment
directly after child_event->pmu_ctx is set but before checking if the
parent event is orphaned. The cleanup routine depends on
event->pmu_ctx being non-NULL before it verifies event->ctx is
non-NULL. This also maintains the author's original intent of passing
in child_ctx to find_get_pmu_context before its refcount/assignment.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: remove a BUG_ON in ext4_mb_release_group_pa()
If a malicious fuzzer overwrites the ext4 superblock while it is
mounted such that the s_first_data_block is set to a very large
number, the calculation of the block group can underflow, and trigger
a BUG_ON check. Change this to be an ext4_warning so that we don't
crash the kernel. |
| In onStart of CompanionDeviceManagerService.java, there is a possible confused deputy due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: fix BUG_ON() when directory entry has invalid rec_len
The rec_len field in the directory entry has to be a multiple of 4. A
corrupted filesystem image can be used to hit a BUG() in
ext4_rec_len_to_disk(), called from make_indexed_dir().

directory entry, returning -EFSCORRUPTED if the entry is invalid. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: don't BUG if someone dirty pages without asking ext4 first
[un]pin_user_pages_remote is dirtying pages without properly warning
the file system in advance. A related race was noted by Jan Kara in
2018[1]; however, more recently instead of it being a very hard-to-hit
race, it could be reliably triggered by process_vm_writev(2) which was
discovered by Syzbot[2].
This is technically a bug in mm/gup.c, but arguably ext4 is fragile in
that if some other kernel subsystem dirty pages without properly
notifying the file system using page_mkwrite(), ext4 will BUG, while
other file systems will not BUG (although data will still be lost).
So instead of crashing with a BUG, issue a warning (since there may be
potential data loss) and just mark the page as clean to avoid
unprivileged denial of service attacks until the problem can be
properly fixed. More discussion and background can be found in the
thread starting at [2].

| FreeRDP 3.0.0 before 3.32.2 server-side RDP peer input parsing skips the six-byte body of a slow-path input event with an unknown message type without checking it lies within the packet's declared length, causing a WinPR stream assertion failure. A remote RDP client with an active session can send a truncated unknown input event to abort assertion-enabled server processes, causing denial of service. |
| FreeRDP before 3.32.2 contains a denial of service vulnerability in the NLA-enabled shadow server when a CredSSP TSRequest omits negoTokens. Unauthenticated attackers can send a crafted seven-byte TSRequest containing only the version field to trigger a fatal WINPR_ASSERT and abort the server process. |
| XML External Entity (XXE) Injection in ContentWorker in Apache OFBiz 24.09 before 24.09.08 on all platforms allows a remote authenticated attacker holding content-author permission to read arbitrary server files and trigger server-side request forgery by storing a crafted text/xml DataResource containing an external entity declaration, causing ContentWorker's rendering of that content — via renderContentAsText and related CMS/help render paths — to parse the stored XML using FreeMarker's default NodeModel.parse DocumentBuilderFactory, which enables neither FEATURE_SECURE_PROCESSING nor external-entity/DTD restrictions, resolving the external entity and returning its content in the rendered response. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 24.09.08, which fixes this issue. |
| Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay in ExternalLoginKeysManager in Apache OFBiz 24.09 before 24.09.08 on all platforms allows a remote unauthenticated attacker who captures a live externalLoginKey value to obtain a complete, cookie-free, reusable session as the user who issued it, in every webapp that user can reach, because checkExternalLoginKey runs as a global preprocessor ahead of both the CSRF and authentication checks and accepts the key as a bearer credential that is never bound to a client, never expires, and is not invalidated after use, while the framework itself both appends live keys to every cross-webapp link it renders and, via WidgetWorker's unvalidated inter-app link target, lets an authenticated user's key be attached to an attacker-chosen absolute URL and delivered directly to the attacker's own server. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 24.09.08, which fixes this issue. |
| Vulnerability in the MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster product of Oracle MySQL (component: InnoDB). Supported versions that are affected are MySQL Server: 8.4.0-8.4.12, 9.7.0-9.7.3, 26.7.0-26.7.1; MySQL Cluster: 8.0.0-8.0.49, 8.4.0-8.4.12, 9.7.0-9.7.3 and 26.7.0-26.7.1. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows high privileged attacker with logon to the infrastructure where MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster executes to compromise MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 4.0 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H). |

| Envoy is a cloud-native, open source edge and service proxy. When an upstream TLS cluster is used with `auto_sni` enabled, a request containing a `host`/`:authority` header longer than 255 characters triggers an abnormal termination of Envoy process. Envoy does not gracefully handle an error when setting SNI for outbound TLS connection. The error can occur when Envoy attempts to use the `host`/`:authority` header value longer than 255 characters as SNI for outbound TLS connection. SNI length is limited to 255 characters per the standard. Envoy always expects this operation to succeed and abnormally aborts the process when it fails. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.30.1, 1.29.4, 1.28.3, and 1.27.5. |
| A flaw was found in QEMU. An assertion failure was present in the update_sctp_checksum() function in hw/net/net_tx_pkt.c when trying to calculate the checksum of a short-sized fragmented packet. This flaw allows a malicious guest to crash QEMU and cause a denial of service condition. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in the Performance Co-Pilot (PCP) package, stemming from the mixed privilege levels utilized by systemd services associated with PCP. While certain services operate within the confines of limited PCP user/group privileges, others are granted full root privileges. This disparity in privilege levels poses a risk when privileged root processes interact with directories or directory trees owned by unprivileged PCP users. Specifically, this vulnerability may lead to the compromise of PCP user isolation and facilitate local PCP-to-root exploits, particularly through symlink attacks. These vulnerabilities underscore the importance of maintaining robust privilege separation mechanisms within PCP to mitigate the potential for unauthorized privilege escalation. |
| A flaw was found in libnbd, due to a malicious Network Block Device (NBD), a protocol for accessing Block Devices such as hard disks over a Network. This issue may allow a malicious NBD server to cause a Denial of Service. |
| Wowza Streaming Engine before 4.12.2 processes XML external entities, which allows remote attackers to read local files with the privileges of the Wowza Streaming Engine process. |
| SNARK Verifier is a generic (S)NARK verifier. Prior to 0.2.5, KZG accumulator public-instance limbs are decoded without consistently enforcing canonical limb bounds before elliptic-curve coordinate reconstruction. `PlonkProof::read` selects scalars using `accumulator_indices` and passes them to `AccumulatorEncoding::from_repr`. For the EVM loader, `LimbsEncoding::from_repr` forwards them to `EvmLoader::ec_point_from_limbs` in `snark-verifier/src/loader/evm/loader.rs`, where `shl` and `add` reconstruct coordinates before `validate_ec_point` checks the resulting affine point rather than the original limb bounds. The related native path in `snark-verifier/src/pcs/kzg/accumulator.rs` can reach assertion- or unwrap-based decoding and panic instead of returning a verification error. This allows noncanonical encodings at the verifier boundary and can crash the native verifier. Standard SDK aggregation circuits are expected to constrain accumulator limbs before this boundary, which limits practical exploitability. This issue is fixed in version 0.2.5. |
| Copernik XML Factory provides secure-by-default JAXP factory creation for Java. Prior to 0.1.2, Copernik XML Factory does not block XInclude resource resolution on the stock JDK provider after an application enables XInclude on a factory returned by `XmlFactories.newDocumentBuilderFactory()` or `XmlFactories.newSAXParserFactory()`, or on an `XMLReader` passed through `XmlFactories.harden()`. An application parsing untrusted XML can resolve attacker-controlled `xi:include` references to disclose local files or, through `http` references, reach internal network endpoints by server-side request forgery. Exploitation requires use of one of those factory/hardening APIs, the stock JDK provider with Apache Xerces absent from the classpath, explicit `setXIncludeAware(true)` or the equivalent reader feature, and XML from an untrusted source. The Xerces provider selected when Xerces is present and the Android provider are unaffected. This issue is fixed in version 0.1.2. |
| Stirling-PDF is a locally hosted web application that facilitates various operations on PDF files. From 2.13.1 until 2.13.2, the POST /api/v1/convert/svg/pdf endpoint renders attacker-supplied SVG through Apache Batik, and a scheme-less root-relative image reference bypasses SvgSanitizer.isExternalUrl() before Batik resolves it against the file:///input.svg document base as a same-origin local file. The convert() and addSvgAsPage() paths in app/core/src/main/java/stirling/software/SPDF/utils/SvgToPdf.java can then render image-decodable server files into the returned PDF when sanitization is enabled, including without authentication on login-disabled deployments or with non-admin access when login is enabled. The issue discloses PNG, JPG, GIF, or SVG content and provides an existence oracle only for image-decodable paths; plain text, binary files, directories, XInclude text, external entities, explicit file URLs, and tested HTTP references are not disclosed through this mechanism. This issue is fixed in version 2.13.2. |
