CVSS v3.1 |
| VeraCrypt provides disk encryption with strong security based on TrueCrypt. Prior to 1.26.30, the Unix, macOS, and FreeBSD serialization paths in src/Platform/Serializer.cpp and src/Volume/VolumePassword.cpp accept untrusted length and count values when deserializing data that can cross from the unprivileged GUI or CLI to the root CoreService helper. Serializer::DeserializeWString allocates floor(size / sizeof(wchar_t)) elements but reads size bytes, so a non-aligned size can overflow the heap allocation. VolumePassword::Deserialize accepts PasswordSize values larger than the fixed 128-byte PasswordBuffer, allowing downstream DataPtr() and Size() consumers such as the KDF to read beyond the buffer. DeserializeString, DeserializeWString, and the string and wide-string list readers also lack allocation and collection bounds, which can exhaust memory, and a zero-length DeserializeString can access an empty vector. Windows uses a different path, and the immediate CoreService pipe writer is the same-user parent process, so the documented exposure is a local defense-in-depth boundary rather than a remote attack. This issue is fixed in 1.26.30. |
| Wazuh is an open-source security platform providing unified XDR and SIEM protection for endpoints and cloud workloads. DecodeWinevt in src/analysisd/decoders/winevtchannel.c accumulates unnamed Windows EventChannel Data element contents into the fixed 65,535-byte join_data heap buffer but passes the growing content length, rather than the OS_MAXSTR buffer capacity, as the snprintf size. An enrolled agent can submit an EventChannel message containing four maximum-sized unnamed Data elements, causing the fourth accumulation to write beyond join_data and corrupt adjacent heap metadata. The subsequent free of join_data2 causes the wazuh-analysisd process to terminate, stopping log ingestion for all agents handled by that manager. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.14.7. |
| A flaw was found in Redis community. The cluster bus packet parser, responsible for handling PING, PONG, and MEET packets, fails to properly validate string-carrying extensions for null-termination. This oversight allows a remote attacker to craft a malicious packet, leading to an out-of-bounds read when the packet's payload is processed. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in the disclosure of sensitive information or a remote denial of service (DoS). |
| A flaw was found in the SFTP backend in gvfs. When mounting a share and reading a file, a malicious SFTP server can cause read_reply() to process a length that exceeds the size requested by the client. The function does not verify the server-provided length against the allocated buffer size, causing the operation to write past the intended boundaries. This issue allows a malicious server to corrupt adjacent heap memory in the gvfsd-sftp process, resulting in a denial of service as the process aborts upon detecting the heap corruption or potentially allowing arbitrary code execution. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in BlueZ, the Linux Bluetooth protocol stack. A remote user within Bluetooth radio range can send a specially crafted Extended Inquiry Response (EIR) packet that causes a buffer overflow when the target device performs Bluetooth discovery. This vulnerability can lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) by crashing the bluetoothd service and may allow for arbitrary code execution. |
| A flaw was found in binutils. A heap-buffer-overflow vulnerability exists when processing a specially crafted XCOFF (Extended Common Object File Format) object file during linking. A local attacker could trick a user into processing this malicious file, which could lead to arbitrary code execution, allowing the attacker to run unauthorized commands, or cause a denial of service, making the system unavailable. |
| A heap buffer overflow vulnerability was found in libaom, the reference AV1 codec implementation. A flaw in the AV1 encoder's Look-Ahead Processing (LAP) mode causes the first-pass stats ring buffer wrap-around guard to be bypassed when g_lag_in_frames is set to 1 or higher. This results in a 232-byte out-of-bounds write on every encoded frame after the second, corrupting adjacent heap objects. An attacker who can influence encoder configuration in a transcoding service or WebRTC session could exploit this to cause a denial of service (process crash) or potentially achieve code execution. |
| A flaw was found in libarchive. This heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the RAR archive processing logic due to improper validation of the LZSS sliding window size after transitions between compression methods. A remote attacker can exploit this by providing a specially crafted RAR archive, leading to the disclosure of sensitive heap memory information without requiring authentication or user interaction. |
| A flaw was found in Libtiff. This vulnerability is a "write-what-where" condition, triggered when the library processes a specially crafted TIFF image file.
By providing an abnormally large image height value in the file's metadata, an attacker can trick the library into writing attacker-controlled color data to an arbitrary memory location. This memory corruption can be exploited to cause a denial of service (application crash) or to achieve arbitrary code execution with the permissions of the user. |
| A flaw was found in libsoup, where the soup_headers_parse_request() function may be vulnerable to an out-of-bound read. This flaw allows a malicious user to use a specially crafted HTTP request to crash the HTTP server. |
| An out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the
screen-image decoder of TeamViewer Full Client for Linux and macOS prior to
version 15.83 allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code by supplying
crafted screen-image data during a remote-control session. The vulnerability
can also be exploited by persuading a user to open a specially crafted
TeamViewer session recording (.tvs). Missing destination bounds checking in the
decoder allows crafted screen-image data to cause an out-of-bounds write to the
image buffer. Exploitation requires user interaction. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Fireware OS certd process allows an authenticated attacker with access to the Firebox management interface to crash the certificate management service and potentially execute arbitrary code by sending a specially crafted request. |
| The GetPaid plugin for WordPress before 2.8.63 contains an improper input validation vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to bypass payment processing by submitting a negative item quantity on a public payment form. Attackers can exploit the unchecked quantity value in process_item() to produce a negative line subtotal that reduces the invoice total to zero, causing process_free_payment() to mark the invoice as paid without any actual gateway charge. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Fireware OS's VPN Network Access Enforcement process allows an authenticated mobile VPN user to create a denial of service condition and potentially execute arbitrary code as an unprivileged process by sending a specially crafted request. |
| A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the Fireware OS authentication service allows an attacker who controls or intercepts traffic to the configured Active Directory server to create a denial of service condition and potentially execute arbitrary code by returning a specially crafted response. |
| A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Fireware OS authentication service allows an attacker who controls or intercepts traffic to the configured Active Directory server to create a denial of service condition and potentially execute arbitrary code by returning a specially crafted response. |
| A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in WatchGuard Fireware OS’s management interface allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker with network access to the management interface to crash the management service by sending a specially crafted login request. Repeated exploitation terminates all active administrator sessions and in-progress management operations and can prevent management of the device. Traffic processing is not affected. |
| A malicious X server could cause a heap overflow by injecting a large DEVICE_ENABLE reply when processed by libXi before 1.8.4. |
| A buffer overflow when handling DEVICE_RESOLUTION in libXi before 1.8.4 could overflow a heap, triggered by a malicious X server. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Fireware OS's WireGuard configuration processing allows a remote attacker that has man-in-the-middle TLS-decrypted access between the Firebox and WatchGuard Cloud to create a Denial of Service condition and potentially execute arbitrary code by tampering with a FireCloud Gateway configuration payload. |
