CVSS v3.1 |
| A flaw was found in libtheora. This heap-based out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists within the AVI (Audio Video Interleave) parser, specifically in the avi_parse_input_file() function. A local attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted AVI file containing a truncated header sub-chunk. This could lead to a denial-of-service (application crash) or potentially leak sensitive information from the heap. |
| An out-of-bounds read was addressed with improved bounds checking. This issue is fixed in macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2. An app may be able to cause unexpected system termination. |
| A Kafka broker using SASL/OAUTHBEARER with the default validator (sasl.oauthbearer.jwt.validator.class=DefaultJwtValidator) selects its implementation from configuration. When sasl.oauthbearer.jwks.endpoint.url is set, the validator verifies the JWT signature. When that URL is unset (the default) and no verification key resolver is supplied, DefaultJwtValidator silently falls back to ClientJwtValidator, which does not verify the JWT signature, algorithm, or issuer - and the broker starts with no warning or error. This is the residual of CVE-2026-33557, whose fix restored signature verification only on the path where the JWKS endpoint URL is set.
Impact:
A broker in this state accepts any structurally valid JWT, including "alg":"none" tokens. An unauthenticated remote attacker who can reach the listener can forge a token asserting any principal - including configured superusers - and gain full access to the cluster. Only brokers that enable SASL/OAUTHBEARER validation without a JWKS endpoint URL (and without a custom verification key resolver) are affected; brokers that set the URL verify signatures and are not affected. Unlike CVE-2026-110952 (issuer/audience not enforced by default), here no signature is verified at all.
Mitigation (all affected versions, no upgrade required):
Set sasl.oauthbearer.jwks.endpoint.url for every listener/mechanism that uses OAuthBearerValidatorCallbackHandler, or configure a signature-verifying sasl.oauthbearer.jwt.validator.class.
Resolution:
From Apache Kafka 4.2.2, 4.3.1, and 4.4.0: a broker that would fall back to the non-verifying ClientJwtValidator fails to start with a ConfigException instead of running without signature verification (secure by default). |
| A flaw was found in GIMP. This vulnerability, a heap buffer over-read in the `icns_slurp()` function, occurs when processing specially crafted ICNS image files. An attacker could provide a malicious ICNS file, potentially leading to application crashes or information disclosure on systems that process such files. |
| Multiple out-of-bounds read vulnerabilities were found in GStreamer's pcapparse element. Malformed PCAP records can trigger reads beyond buffer boundaries during IPv4/TCP header parsing. This element is primarily used in debugging pipelines, limiting real-world exposure. A local attacker could trick a user into processing a specially crafted PCAP file, potentially leading to a crash or information disclosure. |
| An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland in __glXDisp_ChangeDrawableAttributes(). A wrong size validation check can read a client-controlled number of bytes, exceeding the request buffer, leading to information disclosure. A write path also exists but requires byte-swapped clients which is disabled by default. |
| ntopng is a web-based network traffic monitoring application. Prior to 6.7.260721, ndpi_get_custom_category_match writes a four-byte nDPI protocol-category value through a pointer to the two-byte id variable in IpAddress::reloadBlacklist in src/IpAddress.cpp during packet dissection and host initialization. A remote unauthenticated attacker on a monitored network segment can send packets that match custom-category rules, causing stack corruption and denial of service without user interaction. This issue is fixed in version 6.7.260721. |
| A vulnerability has been found in OpenPPL ppl.nn up to bb84dc9952809b3a5a0036858a3d9f68af1c83d5. The affected element is the function OptGraph::InitQuantization of the file src/ppl/nn/engines/cuda/optimizer/opt_graph.cc of the component CUDA Optimizer. Such manipulation of the argument per_channel/bit_width/tensor_max/tensor_min/scale leads to out-of-bounds read. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. This product does not use versioning. This is why information about affected and unaffected releases are unavailable. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet. |
| FreeSWITCH is an open-source software telecommunications platform. From 1.10.0 until 1.11.1, a stack-based buffer overflow in mod_sofia when generating dialog-event notifications. A peer can establish a dialog with an excessively long SIP To-header user part and subsequently subscribe to that entity’s dialog events, causing the stored value to overflow a fixed-size stack buffer. Exploitation requires presence or shared-appearance management to be enabled and normally requires valid profile credentials, unless subscription authentication is disabled. The overflow can terminate the FreeSWITCH process and all active calls. This vulnerability is fixed in version 1.11.2. |
| A flaw was found in QEMU's virtio-blk device. The issue arises because the device does not properly validate the size of input descriptors before writing data. A malicious guest with high privileges could exploit this vulnerability by submitting a malformed virtio-blk SCSI request, leading to an out-of-bounds write in the host heap memory and a potential denial of service (DoS) for the QEMU process. |
| MIME::Field::ParamVal versions before 5.521 for Perl allow one invalid Content-Type parameter to hide the parameters after it, including the multipart boundary.
Parameter parsing stops at the first parameter whose name it cannot read, such as x:y=1 or a name containing an 8-bit byte, and drops every parameter after it. When the boundary is among them, MIME::Parser keeps the multipart body as a single undecoded part without marking the parse as ambiguous.
Mail readers that skip the invalid parameter still find the boundary. A remote sender can hide an attachment from a filter that relies on ambiguous_content() while the recipient's mail client shows it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
md/raid1: Fix stack memory use after return in raid1_reshape
In the raid1_reshape function, newpool is
allocated on the stack and assigned to conf->r1bio_pool.
This results in conf->r1bio_pool.wait.head pointing
to a stack address.
Accessing this address later can lead to a kernel panic.
Example access path:
raid1_reshape()
{
// newpool is on the stack
mempool_t newpool, oldpool;
// initialize newpool.wait.head to stack address
mempool_init(&newpool, ...);
conf->r1bio_pool = newpool;
}
raid1_read_request() or raid1_write_request()
{
alloc_r1bio()
{
mempool_alloc()
{
// if pool->alloc fails
remove_element()
{
--pool->curr_nr;
}
}
}
}
mempool_free()
{
if (pool->curr_nr < pool->min_nr) {
// pool->wait.head is a stack address
// wake_up() will try to access this invalid address
// which leads to a kernel panic
return;
wake_up(&pool->wait);
}
}
Fix:
reinit conf->r1bio_pool.wait after assigning newpool. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: typec: altmodes/displayport: do not index invalid pin_assignments
A poorly implemented DisplayPort Alt Mode port partner can indicate
that its pin assignment capabilities are greater than the maximum
value, DP_PIN_ASSIGN_F. In this case, calls to pin_assignment_show
will cause a BRK exception due to an out of bounds array access.
Prevent for loop in pin_assignment_show from accessing
invalid values in pin_assignments by adding DP_PIN_ASSIGN_MAX
value in typec_dp.h and using i < DP_PIN_ASSIGN_MAX as a loop
condition. |

This issue seems to be related to the behavior of some gcc compilers and
was also fixed on the s390 architecture before:
commit d93a855c31b7 ("s390/ptrace: Avoid KASAN false positives in regs_get_kernel_stack_nth()")
As described in that commit, regs_get_kernel_stack_nth() has confirmed that
`addr` is on the stack, so reading the value at `*addr` should be allowed.
Use READ_ONCE_NOCHECK() helper to silence the KASAN check for this case.
[will: Use '*addr' as the argument to READ_ONCE_NOCHECK()] |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: usb-audio: Fix out-of-bounds read in snd_usb_get_audioformat_uac3()
In snd_usb_get_audioformat_uac3(), the length value returned from
snd_usb_ctl_msg() is used directly for memory allocation without
validation. This length is controlled by the USB device.
The allocated buffer is cast to a uac3_cluster_header_descriptor
and its fields are accessed without verifying that the buffer
is large enough. If the device returns a smaller than expected
length, this leads to an out-of-bounds read.
Add a length check to ensure the buffer is large enough for
uac3_cluster_header_descriptor. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fbcon: Make sure modelist not set on unregistered console
It looks like attempting to write to the "store_modes" sysfs node will

return fbcon_registered_fb[con2fb_map[console]];
If con2fb_map contains a -1 things go wrong here. Instead, return NULL,
as callers of fbcon_info_from_console() are trying to compare against
existing "info" pointers, so error handling should kick in correctly. |

wifi: rtw88: fix the 'para' buffer size to avoid reading out of bounds
Set the size to 6 instead of 2, since 'para' array is passed to
'rtw_fw_bt_wifi_control(rtwdev, para[0], ¶[1])', which reads
5 bytes:
void rtw_fw_bt_wifi_control(struct rtw_dev *rtwdev, u8 op_code, u8 *data)
{
...
SET_BT_WIFI_CONTROL_DATA1(h2c_pkt, *data);
SET_BT_WIFI_CONTROL_DATA2(h2c_pkt, *(data + 1));
...
SET_BT_WIFI_CONTROL_DATA5(h2c_pkt, *(data + 4));
Detected using the static analysis tool - Svace. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: usbhid: Eliminate recurrent out-of-bounds bug in usbhid_parse()
Update struct hid_descriptor to better reflect the mandatory and
optional parts of the HID Descriptor as per USB HID 1.11 specification.
Note: the kernel currently does not parse any optional HID class
descriptors, only the mandatory report descriptor.
Update all references to member element desc[0] to rpt_desc.
Add test to verify bLength and bNumDescriptors values are valid.
Replace the for loop with direct access to the mandatory HID class
descriptor member for the report descriptor. This eliminates the
possibility of getting an out-of-bounds fault.
Add a warning message if the HID descriptor contains any unsupported
optional HID class descriptors. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
arm64: mops: Do not dereference src reg for a set operation
The source register is not used for SET* and reading it can result in
a UBSAN out-of-bounds array access error, specifically when the MOPS
exception is taken from a SET* sequence with XZR (reg 31) as the
source. Architecturally this is the only case where a src/dst/size
field in the ESR can be reported as 31.
Prior to 2de451a329cf662b the code in do_el0_mops() was benign as the
use of pt_regs_read_reg() prevented the out-of-bounds access. |
| A flaw was found in virtio-win. The `RhelDoUnMap()` function does not properly validate the number of descriptors provided by a user during an unmap request. A local user could exploit this input validation vulnerability by supplying an excessive number of descriptors, leading to a buffer overrun. This can cause a system crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). |
