CVSS v3.1 |
| SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway before 15.1.1 permits password recovery for a created but unregistered GINA account whose initial password is empty without adequately verifying ownership. A remote unauthenticated attacker who identifies such an account can set a new password, authenticate as that account, and prevent the intended recipient from using it until recovery. |
| Authorizer before 2.4.2 contains a password reset poisoning vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to control emailed link hosts by supplying x-authorizer-url gRPC metadata. Attackers can send this metadata to the gRPC port or a Grpc-Metadata-X-Authorizer-Url header through the REST gateway to capture reset or magic-link tokens and take over accounts. |

Administrators are able to read and write the management file. But the management file is protected by Windows. As a result, the attacker may disclose, tamper with, destroy, or delete internal information, or cause the affected system to enter a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. |

The challenge response used to unlock the system is common to all users and fixed. As a result, the attacker may disclose, tamper with, destroy, or delete internal information, or cause the affected system to enter a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs: refuse O_TMPFILE creation with an unmapped fsuid or fsgid
vfs_tmpfile() never checked that the caller's fsuid and fsgid map into
the filesystem. On an idmapped mount whose idmapping does not cover the
caller's fs{u,g}id, the ->tmpfile() instance initializes the new inode
through inode_init_owner(), where mapped_fsuid()/mapped_fsgid() return
INVALID_UID/INVALID_GID, and the tmpfile ends up owned by (uid_t)-1.
Every other creation path already refuses this: may_o_create() (O_CREAT)
and may_create_dentry() (mkdir, mknod, symlink, link) bail out with
-EOVERFLOW via fsuidgid_has_mapping() precisely so that an object cannot
be created with an owner the filesystem cannot represent. An O_TMPFILE
is no exception: it is created I_LINKABLE and linkat(2) can splice it
into the namespace afterwards, so the same guarantee must hold.
Add the missing fsuidgid_has_mapping() check to vfs_tmpfile(). On a
non-idmapped mount the caller's fs{u,g}id always map in the superblock's
user namespace, so this is a no-op there and only takes effect on an
idmapped mount that does not map the caller. It applies to every
filesystem that sets FS_ALLOW_IDMAP and implements ->tmpfile() (tmpfs,
ext4, btrfs, xfs, f2fs, ...), and to overlayfs, whose upper-layer
tmpfile creation funnels through vfs_tmpfile() via backing_tmpfile_open(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: defer destroy_previous_session() until after NTLM authentication
In ntlm_authenticate(), destroy_previous_session() is called using a
user pointer resolved from the client-supplied NTLM blob username field
before the NTLMv2 response is validated. An authenticated attacker can
set the NTLM blob username to match a victim account and set
PreviousSessionId to the victim's session ID; destroy_previous_session()
destroys the victim's session while ksmbd_decode_ntlmssp_auth_blob()
subsequently rejects the request with -EPERM.
Move destroy_previous_session() and the prev_id assignment to after
ksmbd_decode_ntlmssp_auth_blob() returns success and use sess->user
rather than the pre-authentication lookup result. This matches the
ordering already used by krb5_authenticate(), where
destroy_previous_session() is called only after
ksmbd_krb5_authenticate() returns success. |
| An issue was discovered in Open XDMoD through 7.5.0. An authentication bypass (account takeover) exists due to a weak password reset mechanism. A brute-force attack against an MD5 rid value requires only 600 guesses in the plausible situation where the attacker knows that the victim has started a password-reset process (pass_reset.php, password_reset.php, XDUser.php) in the past few minutes. |
| A CWE-640: Weak Password Recovery Mechanism for Forgotten Password vulnerability exists in PowerLogic PM55xx, PowerLogic PM8ECC, PowerLogic EGX100 and PowerLogic EGX300 (see security notification for version infromation) that could allow an attacker administrator level access to a device. |
| Incorrect Access Control via activation token reuse on the password-reset endpoint allowing unauthorized password resets and full account takeover. Affected Product: Deutsche Telekom AG Telekom Account Management Portal, versions before 2025-10-27, fixed 2025-10-31. |
| The Membership Plugin – Restrict Content plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Unvalidated Redirect in all versions up to, and including, 3.2.24. This is due to insufficient validation on the redirect url supplied via the 'rcp_redirect' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to redirect users with the password reset email to potentially malicious sites if they can successfully trick them into performing an action. |
| OPEXUS eComplaint and eCASE before version 10.1.0.0 include the secret verification code in the HTTP response when requesting a password reset via 'ForcePasswordReset.aspx'. An attacker who knows an existing user's email address can reset the user's password and security questions. Existing security questions are not asked during the process. |
| StudioCMS is a server-side-rendered, Astro native, headless content management system. Prior to 0.4.3, the POST /studiocms_api/dashboard/create-reset-link endpoint allows any authenticated user with admin privileges to generate a password reset token for any other user, including the owner account. The handler verifies that the caller is an admin but does not enforce role hierarchy, nor does it validate that the target userId matches the caller's identity. Combined with the POST /studiocms_api/dashboard/reset-password endpoint, this allows a complete account takeover of the highest-privileged account in the system. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.4.3. |
| AVideo Platform 8.1 contains a cross-site request forgery vulnerability that allows attackers to reset user passwords by exploiting the password recovery mechanism. Attackers can craft malicious requests to the recoverPass endpoint using the user's recovery token to change account credentials without authentication. |
| Creativeitem Academy LMS up to and including 5.13 uses predictable password reset tokens based on Base64 encoded templates without rate limiting, allowing brute force attacks to guess valid reset tokens and compromise user accounts. |
| An issue was discovered in Vaultize Enterprise File Sharing 17.05.31. Enumeration of users is possible through the password-reset feature. |
| Liferay Portal 7.2.0 through 7.3.5, and older unsupported versions, and Liferay DXP 7.3 before fix pack 1, 7.2 before fix pack 17, and older unsupported versions does not obfuscate password reminder answers on the page, which allows attackers to use man-in-the-middle or shoulder surfing attacks to steal user's password reminder answers. |
| ZTE ADSL ZXV10 W300 modems W300V2.1.0f_ER7_PE_O57 and W300V2.1.0h_ER7_PE_O57 allow remote authenticated non-administrator users to change the admin password by intercepting an outgoing password change request, and changing the username parameter from "support" to "admin". |
| EMC Documentum eRoom version 7.4.4, EMC Documentum eRoom version 7.4.4 SP1, EMC Documentum eRoom version prior to 7.4.5 P04, EMC Documentum eRoom version prior to 7.5.0 P01 includes an unverified password change vulnerability that could potentially be exploited by malicious users to compromise the affected system. |
| WordPress through 4.7.4 relies on the Host HTTP header for a password-reset e-mail message, which makes it easier for remote attackers to reset arbitrary passwords by making a crafted wp-login.php?action=lostpassword request and then arranging for this message to bounce or be resent, leading to transmission of the reset key to a mailbox on an attacker-controlled SMTP server. This is related to problematic use of the SERVER_NAME variable in wp-includes/pluggable.php in conjunction with the PHP mail function. Exploitation is not achievable in all cases because it requires at least one of the following: (1) the attacker can prevent the victim from receiving any e-mail messages for an extended period of time (such as 5 days), (2) the victim's e-mail system sends an autoresponse containing the original message, or (3) the victim manually composes a reply containing the original message. |
