CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: ctxfi: Don't enumerate SPDIF1 at DAIO initialization
The recent refactoring of xfi driver changed the assignment of
atc->daios[] at atc_get_resources(); now it loops over all enum
DAIOTYP entries while it looped formerly only a part of them.
The problem is that the last entry, SPDIF1, is a special type that
is used only for hw20k1 CTSB073X model (as a replacement of SPDIFIO),
and there is no corresponding definition for hw20k2. Due to the lack
of the info, it caused a kernel crash on hw20k2, which was already
worked around by the commit b045ab3dff97 ("ALSA: ctxfi: Fix missing
SPDIFI1 index handling").
This patch addresses the root cause of the regression above properly,
simply by skipping the incorrect SPDIF1 type in the parser loop.
For making the change clearer, the code is slightly arranged, too. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mailbox: add sanity check for channel array
Fail gracefully if there is no channel array attached to the mailbox
controller. Otherwise the later dereference will cause an OOPS which
might not be seen because mailbox controllers might instantiate very
early. Remove the comment explaining the obvious while here. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
afs: handle CB.InitCallBackState3 requests without a server record
The cache manager callback path now attaches the server record to an
incoming call through the rxrpc peer's app data. That association is
not guaranteed to exist for every callback request, and most callback
handlers already tolerate that case.
Make CB.InitCallBackState3 follow the same pattern by checking whether a
server record was attached before using it. If the peer is not mapped
to a server record, trace the request and ignore it, matching the
existing behaviour for other unmatched callback requests.
This keeps the callback handler consistent with the rest of the cache
manager service and avoids depending on peer state that may not be
available for a given request. |
| The default configuration of Sun Java System Application Server 7 and 7 2004Q2 enables the HTTP TRACE method, which makes it easier for remote attackers to steal cookies and authentication credentials via a cross-site tracing (XST) attack, a related issue to CVE-2004-2763 and CVE-2005-3398. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: logitech-hidpp: Check maxfield in hidpp_get_report_length()
Do not crash when a report has no fields.
Fake USB gadgets can send their own HID report descriptors and can define report
structures without valid fields. This can be used to crash the kernel over USB. |
| buttonpressed.sh in scanbuttond 0.2.3 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the (1) scan.pnm and (2) scan.jpg temporary files. |
| The default configuration of Centre for Speech Technology Research (CSTR) Festival 1.95 beta (aka 2.0 beta) on Gentoo Linux, SUSE Linux, and possibly other distributions, is run locally with elevated privileges without requiring authentication, which allows local and remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via the local daemon on port 1314, a different vulnerability than CVE-2001-0956. NOTE: this issue is local in some environments, but remote on others. |
| DenyHosts 2.6 processes OpenSSH sshd "not listed in AllowUsers" log messages with an incorrect regular expression that does not match an IP address, which might allow remote attackers to avoid detection and blocking when making invalid login attempts with a username not present in AllowUsers, as demonstrated by the root username, a different vulnerability than CVE-2007-4323. |
| Mozilla Firefox before 2.0.0.8 and SeaMonkey before 1.1.5 can hide the window's titlebar when displaying XUL markup language documents, which makes it easier for remote attackers to conduct phishing and spoofing attacks by setting the hidechrome attribute. |
| Incomplete blacklist vulnerability in upload_img_cgi.php in Simple PHP Blog before 0.5.1 allows remote attackers to upload dangerous files and execute arbitrary code, as demonstrated by a filename ending in .php. or a .htaccess file, a different vector than CVE-2005-2733. NOTE: the vulnerability was also present in a 0.5.1 download available in the early morning of 20070923. NOTE: the original 20070920 disclosure provided an incorrect filename, img_upload_cgi.php. |
| The default configuration of xterm on Debian GNU/Linux sid and possibly Ubuntu enables the allowWindowOps resource, which allows user-assisted attackers to execute arbitrary code or have unspecified other impact via escape sequences. |
| The default configuration of Microsoft Windows uses the Web Proxy Autodiscovery Protocol (WPAD) without static WPAD entries, which might allow remote attackers to intercept web traffic by registering a proxy server using WINS or DNS, then responding to WPAD requests, as demonstrated using Internet Explorer. NOTE: it could be argued that if an attacker already has control over WINS/DNS, then web traffic could already be intercepted by modifying WINS or DNS records, so this would not cross privilege boundaries and would not be a vulnerability. It has also been reported that DHCP is an alternate attack vector. |
| hidd in BlueZ (bluez-utils) before 2.25 allows remote attackers to obtain control of the (1) Mouse and (2) Keyboard Human Interface Device (HID) via a certain configuration of two HID (PSM) endpoints, operating as a server, aka HidAttack. |
| WebKit in Apple Safari 3 Beta before Update 3.0.3, and iPhone before 1.0.1, does not properly handle the interaction between International Domain Name (IDN) support and Unicode fonts, which allows remote attackers to create a URL containing "look-alike characters" (homographs) and possibly perform phishing attacks. |
| The Distributed Lock Manager (DLM) in the cluster manager for Linux kernel 2.6.15 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (loss of lock services) by connecting to the DLM port, which probably prevents other processes from accessing the service. |
| Interpretation conflict in the Sun Java Virtual Machine (JVM) allows user-assisted remote attackers to conduct a multi-pin DNS rebinding attack and execute arbitrary JavaScript in an intranet context, when an intranet web server has an HTML document that references a "mayscript=true" Java applet through a local relative URI, which may be associated with different IP addresses by the browser and the JVM. |
| Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 does not log requests that use the TRACK method, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information without detection. |
| Safari in Apple iPhone 1.1.1, when requested to disable Javascript, does not disable it until Safari is restarted, which might leave Safari open to attacks that the user does not expect. |
| Cisco Content Switching Modules (CSM) 4.2 before 4.2.7, and Cisco Content Switching Module with SSL (CSM-S) 2.1 before 2.1.6, when service termination is enabled, allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (reboot) via unspecified vectors related to high network utilization, aka CSCsh57876. |
| The cmdjob utility in Autodesk Backburner 3.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on render servers by queueing jobs that contain these commands. NOTE: this is only a vulnerability in environments in which the administrator has not followed documentation that outlines the security risks of operating Backburner on untrusted networks. |
